About this role
JMDC’s pharmaceutical division uses large-scale medical data, including health examination and claims data, to help pharmaceutical companies address business issues and create business impact. This role leads consulting sales by discussing opportunities with pharmaceutical clients and proposing projects based on medical big data.
The role owns accounts from strategy through execution. Responsibilities include understanding and structuring client issues, designing approaches, proposing projects related to marketing and sales, coordinating data-related departments, and supporting project delivery. The account owner works with internal physicians, data scientists, engineers, product managers and other specialists.
Project duties include forming an internal team suited to each engagement and managing the project. Depending on the assignment, the person may define requirements while working with the data management department and support delivery. For technical solutions such as sales forecasting and market-size estimation, delivery is supported in cooperation with specialist teams and data scientists.
Example themes include analyzing consultation patterns and treatment practices with medical big data; visualizing the patient journey from disease onset through consultation and receipt of medical services; identifying factors related to severe-disease risk and medication selection through machine learning; and supporting facility and physician targeting using data from group companies.
Required qualifications are either at least three years of experience selling intangible products to corporations, such as SaaS, data or consulting services, or experience on the commercial side of a pharmaceutical company, such as marketing, NPP or MR, together with the ability to create and carry out personal action plans. This includes independently designing approaches and priorities for addressing client issues and achieving budget targets.
Welcome experience includes changing a customer’s or team’s decision through hypotheses based on sales, claims or prescription data; proposing to multiple stakeholders and building agreement from field staff to executives; and structuring unclear client problems into what is happening, why and where, then turning the analysis into a proposal. Experience developing strategies for growth issues in an in-house service is also welcomed. The role seeks interest in medical big data, initiative in creating solutions, and smooth collaboration with specialists from varied backgrounds.
