This senior analyst will design and lead the end-to-end process for a new expert-interview content business connected to Speeda. The role identifies the industries, themes and business questions to prioritize, determines what customers such as investors and operating companies need to know, finds suitable experts, conducts interviews, and edits and structures the resulting insights into reusable, saleable content.
Responsibilities include setting research and content strategy based on customer needs and market trends, planning content coverage and roadmaps, searching for and evaluating former executives, industry practitioners and other specialists, assigning experts, preparing interview guides and questions, conducting interviews, and editing, summarizing and structuring interview material. The role also establishes content quality standards, review procedures and quality-control processes, and works with sales and engineering teams to build the product and operations.
Required experience includes practical work in at least one of the following areas: research- and interview-based projects at a consulting firm or FAS, including business due diligence; equity research or investment analysis at a securities or asset-management firm; an expert network or research/intelligence business; corporate planning, business development or M&A involving industry analysis and expert interviews; or reporting and editing for a newspaper, business magazine or business media organization, including structural analysis of companies and industries and in-depth interviews with key people.
Preferred qualifications include business-level English, experience in an expert network or primary-research business, understanding of both buy-side and sell-side research workflows, credentials such as securities analyst, CFA, certified public accountant or MBA, and experience launching a new business, building a business from zero to one, or working in content or media. The role requires curiosity about industries, business models and management issues, understanding of finance and competitive strategy, interviewing and communication skills, listening and questioning ability, editorial and logical-structuring skills, ownership and execution capability.
The position is full-time and based in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Remote work is available, although office attendance may be required when necessary.
