About this role

This full-time business development manager role is responsible for strengthening freee’s alliances and creating new business opportunities with strategic partners. The work focuses on joint business development with key accounting-firm accounts rather than simple agency sales. It includes discussions with CXOs and company representatives about both current management issues and broader changes in the industry and society.

The manager will co-create solutions using freee, including support for human-resource development and customer acquisition, and develop opportunities for revenue growth for both sides. The role also involves deepening relationships with existing alliance partners such as major M&A brokerage firms and consulting firms, then leading reciprocal-referral initiatives and the planning and execution of joint services. Another responsibility is to identify and approach new partners whose assets and strategy fit the business, and to design partnership structures.

The position is part of the dedicated partner-business team within the Partner Business Division. Team members have backgrounds in consulting firms, major IT companies, financial institutions and general trading companies. The business context is freee’s integrated cloud software for small businesses and individuals, covering areas such as accounting, human resources and labor management, sales management, tax filing and electronic signatures. The role uses this product portfolio to help partners create new services and revenue models.

Required experience includes at least one of the following: approximately three or more years of enterprise sales to large companies; proposal or negotiation experience with customer executives such as CXOs; or experience in new business development or alliance sales. Experience launching partner businesses in the SaaS or IT industry is welcomed, as is work experience at major tax-accounting firms, audit firms, comprehensive consulting firms, financial institutions, general trading companies or consulting firms. Experience as a business owner is also welcomed.

The posting seeks someone who can design and execute a business model that generates ARR from a zero-based starting point, challenge existing frameworks and precedents, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and move projects forward by involving complex stakeholder groups. The work location is Tokyo, the employment type is full-time, and online interviews are available.
