Supply Chain Specialist

This hybrid role is based in Japan and joins the APAC Supply Chain team. The initial focus is Equipment Return Support (ERS) for the Japan, Australia and New Zealand markets, with the opportunity to expand into Vendor Management support.

The specialist owns key equipment-return metrics and coordinates and tracks hardware returns. Responsibilities include monitoring billing accuracy, improving hardware collection performance, responding to equipment-return questions from internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining relationships with external clients. The role works with Customer Support, Sales, Supply Chain and other internal teams, and oversees on-site or third-party vendor activities against key performance indicators.

Additional responsibilities include supporting vendor performance tracking, resolving operational issues, contributing to continuous improvement, assisting with vendor business reviews, analyzing data and preparing performance insights. The specialist partners with regional supply chain and procurement teams to align vendor services with operational and cost objectives, documents standard processes and best practices, and supports regional initiatives related to transformation, sustainability and service excellence.

Applicants need at least four years of professional experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, customer service or a related field. The posting requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders, a customer-focused mindset, problem-solving ability, experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and solid analytical skills. Professional fluency in spoken and written Japanese and English is required. Candidates should also have a proactive and adaptable approach, willingness to learn and take on broader responsibilities, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, and demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.

Experience with third-party vendors, supply chain KPIs, service metrics or cost optimization is welcomed. The posting also identifies hands-on experience with SAP or other enterprise systems, work with regional or global teams, and knowledge of Power BI, Qlik Sense or similar reporting tools as additional desired experience.
