The role develops the middleware that is Autoware's execution foundation. TIER IV has a team that researches and develops middleware and OS for Autoware, publishing system software used in real public-road autonomous-driving products (e.g. agnocast, callback_isolated_executor). Work: developing and improving the quality of open-source middleware for Autoware; integrating developed middleware into Autoware; OS (Linux kernel)-level performance analysis and bottleneck resolution of the Autoware system; joining R&D on middleware and OS technology; and collaborating with and communicating to the OSS community. The team supports pursuing a work-related PhD with partial company funding. The posting is bilingual. Business-level Japanese is expected. Full-time, based in Tokyo (Shinagawa).
