Design and operate integrated risk management for a fintech business, covering credit and business risk, new-product reviews, BCP, crisis response, executive reporting, and hybrid work.

About this role

This role will design, build, and operate integrated risk management at Money Forward Kessai, where the risk-management function is being established. The work includes creating risk evaluation criteria suited to the business rather than only operating an existing framework.

Responsibilities include planning, introducing, and embedding company-wide risk policies, structures, and measures; managing credit and business risk through portfolio management, credit-limit controls, and concentration-risk analysis; assessing strategic risks for new products, identifying individual risks, and proposing measures; preparing reports for management and operating the risk-management committee; developing and improving business continuity planning and crisis-management arrangements; and planning and delivering training to raise risk awareness among officers and employees.

The position requires approximately three or more years of experience in one of the following areas: corporate planning, finance, or ALM at a bank, securities firm, insurer, or other financial institution; examination, risk management, or operations at a bank, credit company, card company, or leasing company; or risk management, compliance, or business-process design in emerging financial fields such as payment processing, fund-transfer services, crypto assets, or fintech. Experience specifically launching a risk function or working exclusively in risk management is not mandatory.

Preferred experience includes company-wide numerical management, balance-sheet management, executive reporting, designing or launching integrated or credit-risk frameworks, revising existing systems, dealing with the Financial Services Agency or other regulators, and creating internal rules or manuals. Knowledge or practical experience in cashless payments, credit cards, or startup finance is also preferred, as is experience balancing business growth and risk control while building agreement across departments and advancing projects. The role is situated in a SaaS and fintech financial-services business providing services including B2B deferred payment and invoice agency, early receivables funding, invoice card payments, and business cards.

Candidates are expected to plan and execute necessary actions independently, adapt risk-management approaches to the company’s SaaS and fintech business characteristics, and involve other departments to move the organization forward.

Employment is full-time with Money Forward, followed by an in-house secondment to Money Forward Kessai. The annual salary range is JPY 6–12 million on a monthly-pay system. Fixed allowances include 45 hours of scheduled and statutory overtime and statutory-holiday work, as well as 40 hours of late-night work. A performance bonus may be paid every half-year to highly rated employees, depending on company performance. The initial probation period is three months from the start date.

The workplace is in Shibaura, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Work is hybrid, with at least two office days per week and remote work. Office days depend on the team and may change according to company or business conditions. The role uses a flextime system with an eight-hour standard workday, a 60-minute break, flexible hours from 7:00 to 22:00, and core-time options listed as 10:00–15:00 and 9:30–14:30. Indoor smoking is generally prohibited, with smoking rooms available.

Benefits include social insurance, a nearby-housing allowance, a nearby-moving celebration payment, a rent salary-deduction program, health and gynecological checkups, influenza vaccination, book-purchase assistance, a corporate defined-contribution pension, an employee stock ownership plan, and discounts from contracted providers for rental brokerage, housekeeping, babysitting, and online English lessons. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, annual paid leave, three summer days, two winter days, and year-end and New Year leave from December 31 to January 3. Internal programs include company meetings, CEO sessions, cross-department events, regular one-to-one meetings, an internal recruitment program, and employee satisfaction surveys. The scope of duties and work locations may change to those designated by the company.
