Semiconductor Development Strategy Lead

About this role

This role develops and executes semiconductor development strategy for future PlayStation products. The lead identifies and analyzes industry and internal issues, forms a medium-term outlook, consults stakeholders with experts, and turns the resulting strategy into action.

The work includes assessing trends in the semiconductor and gaming industries and analyzing product requirements and internal challenges from multiple perspectives. The role collaborates closely with experts to make technology-business trade-off decisions, converts those decisions into chip-development strategies and collaboration schemes with external partners, and plans and advances projects with other departments and outside partners.

Required experience includes planning and executing development strategies, plans, or collaboration schemes; consulting focused on customer needs; and project execution in semiconductor, IT, or systems technology fields.

Business English is required. Preferred qualifications include academic or professional knowledge of semiconductors or computer science, especially logic semiconductor architecture; experience building and developing system architectures; and experience collaborating with startups or overseas vendors.

The team handles PlayStation semiconductor work from concept through development and mass production. It includes experts from multiple fields, develops custom LSI for PlayStation, and runs several development projects jointly with external partners to support product competitiveness.
